I am Garima Singhvi Babel a qualified Chartered Accountant and a Baker. I belong to the city of lakes Udaipur, Rajasthan (India).
I hail from a family of Chartered Accountants, so following the trend came as a given.
Getting the CA degree was never an easy task! It took a lot of DEDICATION and COMMITMENT but even after completing my CA I always felt something was missing.
Here is my story.
Following my Passion
I have always been very keen about the Art of Cooking and Food. I used to read a lot about it – the ingredients, the variety, the aroma, the presentation all made me so happy!!! And because of this passion, I attended many classes from various experts in the baking field.
The idea of starting my own venture GB Temptations surfaced only after my marriage when my husband encouraged me to take this passion more seriously. It was tough to start the venture.
The hard-earned CA degree and the field which I wanted to take were entirely different. So I went from working full-time to halftime and then took baking classes. It has been 4 years and since then I have been training people with new dimensions of desserts, cakes, chocolates etc.
Till date, I have taught around 400 plus people and it is heartwarming to see the enthusiasm.
Balancing it All
So being a CA Professional, a Wife and a Mother have never been a restriction to my career.
As a Chartered Accountant, I have also served as a Director in a Cooperative Bank for almost 6 years.
After having a child things got denser – office, classes, sometimes guest lectures in colleges, feeding my child – but with time, proper planning, patience, dedication and of course family support things can be managed well.
And most of all when you really want to do something which you enjoy you learn how to make it all work.
Initially, people used to laugh at me and say – A CA teaching how to bake! And NOW those same people say -WOW, A CA teaching how to bake. It is just a matter of time.
