Mindset during the nationwide lockdown
I was having a meeting with a client in the office and then I came to know from my colleague that a lockdown has been imposed across India. This was on 21st March 2020. I wasn’t too surprised about the lockdown since it was imminent considering the rising number of COVID cases.
However, I was definitely concerned about what would happen next as we were watching the news and staying updated. Initially, the lockdown felt like a relief to me since we didn’t have to travel and go to the office. So, I thought I would rest for some days but of course, we didn’t have that luxury as we soon started working from home.
The work-from-home situation had its own problem. For instance, there were no set working hours, and the fact that we were at home, it was taken for granted that we would be available any time of the day. This was definitely problematic and I could see the work hours and pressure increasing on us.
