On 28th September 2023, Deloitte Middle East (DME) was acknowledged as the Middle East Tax Firm of the Year by the International Tax Review. It took place at ITR’s annual Europe, Middle East, and Africa Tax (EMEA) Awards.
The ITR EMEA Awards evaluates firms and organizations based on their performance history in the region, their innovation in tax methods, and their dedication to client service.
This can be seen in activities such as the introduction of new tax offerings, collaborations with other firms and organizations, and efforts to address the needs of clients.
The award is a testament to the strong quality of Deloitte’s Middle East tax practice and the vision, clarity, assurance to its clients, and Deloitte’s commitment to supporting businesses through the ongoing tax reform in the region.
In addition to Deloitte Middle East’s achievement, Hadeel Biyari, an Indirect Tax Partner in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, was awarded the Tax Litigation and Disputes Rising Star.
Going back in history
Deloitte’s journey in the Middle East began with the establishment of an office in Cairo, Egypt in 1926.
The office primarily focused on providing audit and tax services to clients in the country.
Over the years, Deloitte expanded its operations in the Middle East to meet the growing demand for professional services, serving clients in various industries, including finance, energy, and healthcare.
