Apple’s new CFO appointed: Kevan Parekh will succeed Luca Maestri

Apple Inc. has named Kevan Parekh as its next CFO, who will step into his new role in January 2025. An MBA from Chicago Booth School of Business and Engineer, he currently serves as the Vice-President for FP&A.

  • The tech giant has named the Indian-origin Kevan Parekh as its next CFO taking over from Luca Maestri.
  • Currently leading Financial Planning and Analysis FP&A at Apple, Kevan will step into his new role in January 2025.

Who is Apple’s new CFO?

Apple has announced Kevan Parekh, an Indian-origin executive, as its new CFO.

Parekh currently serves as Apple’s Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A).

His educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan and an MBA from the University of Chicago.

Kevan joined Apple in 2013, and has played a key role in Apple’s financial and business planning, and product development planning since then. Prior to becoming CFO, he served as Apple’s vice president of Financial Planning and Analysis. Before that, he served as Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Finance, supporting a number of different functions throughout his tenure, including Engineering, iTunes, Marketing, Retail, and Sales.

Leadership changes

This transition is a part of Apple’s long-term leadership strategy.

Parekh will succeed Luca Maestri, who is set to transition into a new role within Apple’s Corporate Services teams.

Effective date

Parekh will take on the role of CFO starting January 1, 2025.

A decade at Apple

Parekh began his journey at Apple by leading the financial support for the Product Marketing, Internet Sales and Services, and Engineering teams.

He has also headed finance for Apple’s Worldwide Sales, Retail, and Marketing divisions.

Parekh currently oversees FP&A, G&A and Benefits Finance, Investor Relations, and Market Research.

Over his 11 years with the company, there is no doubt that Parekh has played a key role in shaping Apple’s financial strategies.

In his new role, Parekh will work closely with Apple’s leadership team and continue to oversee financial strategies, reporting directly to Tim Cook.
