  • Wipro is calling back the team to the office – but with a twist!
  • According to the announcement by Wipro’s Chief Human Resources Officer, Saurabh Govil – employees are set to collaborate in the office three days a week.
  • However, they will also have that much-needed flexibility of remote working.

Hybrid work with purpose

Many large companies are now implementing a hybrid work model, requiring employees to return to the office, either full-time or part-time.

However, Wipro’s hybrid model is part of the company’s broader strategy of “profit with purpose.”

  • Flexible in-office days: Wipro’s hybrid policy allows employees to choose their in-office days based on collaboration needs.
  • Remote work flexibility: Employees can work remotely on the remaining days, promoting better work-life integration.
  • Personalized approach: This policy empowers associates to tailor their schedules to fit their requirements and preferences.

The company announced this policy with a focus on,

  • Fostering innovation through in-person collaboration
  • As well as offering flexibility to support employees’ personal well-being.

Wipro’s message: Work isn’t just about the bottom line, it’s about making a difference, for employees and the company.

Four pillars of the hybrid policy

Wipro’s Saurabh Govil outlined the key principles guiding Wipro’s approach to the future of work:

Collaboration: In-person interactions fuel innovation. By coming into the office three days a week, employees can engage in meaningful collaboration.

Flexibility: Work-life integration is essential. Wipro empowers associates to manage their professional and personal needs with a flexible arrangement.

Inclusivity for special needs: Life can be unpredictable. Wipro commits to accommodating associates’ needs when they require extra support, recognizing the value of a compassionate workplace.

Trust: Accountability is essential, and Wipro trusts its associates to deliver their best, wherever they are working.

Govil’s message is clear; this is about more than just office space – it’s about fostering an environment where innovation and empathy go hand in hand.

Other companies with a hybrid work model?

This trend is quite prevalent in the corporate world.

Meta: Meta updated its remote work policy in September 2023, asking employees to work on-site three days a week.

Google: In March 2022, Google directed staff in the San Francisco Bay Area and other U.S. locations to be in the office at least three days per week.

BlackRock: BlackRock, meanwhile, has set a four-day in-office mandate for its employees.

What do you think about the 3-day work-from-office policy?
